Hyderabad 1956 reorg map

edit

The article is titled as Hyderabad State (1948 - 1956). But in the map (template), the Karnataka State was shown with a blue marking, instead of the then Hyderabad State.--68.193.2.168 (talk) 18:07, 31 July 2012 (UTC) The State of Mysore was incorporated on 1 November 1956 alongside the emergence of several other linguistic States at that time. The renaming of the Mysore State to Karnataka was done only in the year 1973. So, the highlighting of the Karnataka State with a blue marking line, instead of the relevant Hyderabad State during 1948 -1956 is, however, NOT justifiable.--68.193.2.168 (talk) 18:26, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Added Hyderabad state map. I am looking for better map which show the reorganization of states, which show all 3 regions of Hyderabad state instead of focusing on Karnataka. Until we find the better one, lets keep this one. Ramcrk (talk) 20:03, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much for your expeditious action and reply. I quite agree with your predicament. Had there been also some demarcation (line) indicated in the map between the areas shared by Maharastra (then Bombay State) and Andhra States, it would have been okay.--68.193.2.168 (talk) 20:25, 31 July 2012 (UTC) There is a Wikipedia article titled ' States Reorganization Act ' in which a map (template) with the caption South Indian States prior to the States Reorganization Act. It is the same map which is without any blue mark indication (for Karnataka) and the same can be used in the place of the ' disputable ' one, here. --68.193.2.168 (talk) 20:56, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Done. I have created new map. Ramcrk (talk) 21:36, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Nice to see the amended map and the changed caption too. But, the colour of Hyderabad State in 1956 is described as light green, whereas it is yellowish green (or greenish yellow). Actually, green and dark green are shown for (former)Mysore State and Coorg area respectively in the map.--68.193.2.168 (talk) 23:27, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, Sir. Your immediate response to my humble suggestion is highly commendable.--68.193.2.168 (talk) 17:53, 1 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Distinct entity

edit

Hyderabad State (1948-1956) was under control of Indian government, whereas the erstwhile Hyderabad state was ruled by the Nizams. So it is distinct article and cannot be merged with Hyderabad State. Randhir 16:45, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
