Specificity of "hybrid pheasant"

edit

The article-space should be preserved, and I propose this due to the notability of it in terms of animal breeding programs.--Cymbelmineer (talk) 17:12, 7 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

I removed the dubious character by adding a pdf reference too.--Cymbelmineer (talk) 17:12, 7 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
If we're talking about the term "hybrid pheasant", though, we want to know what defines the term itself though, the most common hybrid should be mentioned but have its own article if it's notable. Does this particular breed have a specific name? We could move the article to there. I think having an article of this name dedicated to one particular hyrbid pheasant is somewhat misleading, though. The notability is, I think, the genetical anomalies thrown up by this particular pheasant offspring. It certainly appears that not all of the behaviourisms of this species have their origins in the parents, suggesting a new and distinct off-spring. I am not an ornothologist, but would guess that they thereby maybe throw up some interesting genetical ideas. I agree that an extra section under pheasants, or something similar, might also be in order. I just feel the subject distinguishes itself enough from other breeds of pheasant to arrant such a page. If you find anything wrong, of course, you may change it.--Cymbelmineer (talk) 17:31, 7 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Not at all, it seems reliably sourced and this breed seems notable; I just think a different title would be more suitable. What's the specific name for this breed? One of the research papers is bound to mention it, I'll take a look in a moment. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 17:33, 7 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
I think I may merge this article into gamebird hybrids, with some references, of course. I must have unconsciously ignored the similar wikipedia page on gamebird hybrids.--Cymbelmineer (talk) 17:45, 7 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
You may have unconsciously forgotten to read what the sources you cite actually say. I've redirected this to Gamebird hybrids. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 18:29, 7 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
