Both articles refer mostly to the human liver and on the general liver page there is a section Other animals. Iztwoz (talk) 20:43, 28 November 2014 (UTC)
- Support for reasons stated. There is not enough unique content to justify a split. --Tom (LT) (talk) 22:56, 28 November 2014 (UTC)
- Support I believe that some content of articles are redundant. If the liver article were expanded to talk about the general biology of liver in other organisms or to include the culinary aspects of liver then it would deserve a unique page. However, as it currently stands this seems unnecessary. HoneyBadger4 (talk) 18:00, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
Proposed merge from fibrous capsule of Glisson
editI stumbled upon the stub article fibrous capsule of Glisson while researching pelvic inflammatory disease. It is only referenced in one or two articles and has limited significance outside of this disease and for those interested in hepatic histology. It does link to several pages but this is only because it is included in the abdomen anatomy drop down box at the bottom of several pages. I also believe that fibrous capsule of Glisson is redirected for liver capsule when the two are separate entities that are continuous with each other. Anatomy texts that I have seen it referenced in so far and the TA & TH, designate the fibrous capsule of Glisson as the internal portion of the Liver Capsule that surrounds the portal triad and sinusoids. I suggest:
- Merging the article Human Liver to provide context for readers
- Adding an additional subsection to the Human Liver article for liver capsule to recognize fibrous capsule of Glisson as a continuous but distinct sub-entity of the fibrous liver capsule.
Any objections? HoneyBadger4 (talk) 16:54, 6 December 2014 (UTC)
- Having merged human liver with liver went ahead and completed merge of Glisson's capsule--Iztwoz (talk) 17:38, 11 March 2015 (UTC)
