WP:SMALLCAT edit

Dear Mztourist, are you aware of this guideline? We are not supposed to create categories that are very small - the rule is actually about twenty members, if I recall correctly. We should definitely avoid creating categories with only one article. That's why I removed the single article category and placed it in the higher category. Buckshot06 have you read it? It says "unless such categories are part of a large overall accepted sub-categorization scheme". I have created categories for former Soviet air bases in numerous former Soviet Republics and Warsaw Pact countries, some countries have more, some have less. There is no mention of 20 in the guideline. There are 3 in Czech Republic, not one. The categorisation is useful because it allows interested users to easily identify the former Soviet air bases in each country, rather than have to go through a list of former Soviet air bases and work out which ones are in a particular country. You've found three now? That's much better than 1, for which we should place in the main category only. Now since you and I are pretty incapable of having a civil conversation left to ourselves, we should probably seek third opinions. Buckshot06 (talk) 03:16, 20 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
