GA review (see here for criteria)

While it doesn't affect the GA status, you should have measurements have a non-breaking space after the number per WP:Numbers.

  1. It is reasonably well written.
    a (prose):   b (MoS):
Modern Applications needs to be incorporated or removed per WP:LAYOUT. The number of short one-paragraph subsections under Middle ages probably violates LAYOUT as well. Article could use copyediting as i spotted a few mistakes.
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references):   b (citations to reliable sources):   c (OR):
Several references are basically bare-urls and need to be incorperated as proper references. In addition, several statements have no citations, notably Scientific and technological stagnation and People's Republic of China
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects):   b (focused):
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales):   b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
File:WorldShips1460.jpg lacks any copyright or purpose; File:Sea island survey.jpg and File:Jesuites en chine.jpg need to explictly state what their permission is-"see below" is not adequate.
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
    The issues are relatively minor.
After 1 week there has been absolutely no work so I am forced to demote the article as it looks like no improvement is forthcoming. If the article is quickly improved you can bring it up for reassessment.
