I've removed the accuracy disputed line thingie, pending further facts (google knows a lot of references, so I'm guessing it's not really made up). Mat-C 5 July 2005 15:47 (UTC)

Mild one and acute

edit

Of course I don't actually know anything about hepatitis G, but it seems very unlikely that the disease could be both mild and acute, considering that they are antonyms. -Smedley Hirkum

They are compatible in medical terms. Mild case vs. severe case. Acute disease vs. chronic disease. --FloNight 20:10, 5 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Is hepatitis G a real human disease?

edit

While GB virus C is sometimes referred to as hepatitis G virus, that designation is historical. It is not clear whether this virus actually causes human disease. For a review, please see my article:

Lindenbach, B. D., and C. M. Rice. 2001. Flaviviridae: The viruses and their replication, p. 991-1041. In D. M. Knipe and P. M. Howley (ed.), Fields Virology, Fourth ed, vol. 1. Lippincott-Raven Publishers, Philadelphia.

I'd appreciate any input so we can clear this up. --Brett Lindenbach 10:30, 6 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I agree. This page should be merged under GB_virus_C. Scray (talk) 13:17, 21 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
