Additional comments by Lingzhi edit

To check as many errors as possible in the references and/or notes, I recommend using User:Lingzhi/reviewsourcecheck in conjunction with two other scripts. You can install them as follows:

  • First, copy/paste importScript('User:Ucucha/HarvErrors.js'); to Special:MyPage/common.js .
  • On the same page and below that script add importScript('User:Lingzhi/reviewsourcecheck.js');. Save that page.
  • Finally go to to Special:MyPage/common.css and add .citation-comment {display: inline !important;} /* show all Citation Style 1 error messages */.

When you've added all those, go to an article to check for various messages in its notes and references. (You may need to clear your browser's cache first). The output of User:Lingzhi/reviewsourcecheck is not foolproof and can be verbose. Use common sense when interpreting output (especially with respect to sorting errors). Reading the explanatory page will help more than a little. The least urgent message of all is probably Missing archive link; archiving weblinks is good practice but lack of archiving will probably not be mentioned in any content review. Lingzhi ♦ (talk) 04:13, 16 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Review edit

  • Lead & infobox;
    • It would be great if you mention the engagements in "his actions during engagements with the enemy", may be the campaign names etc.
    • Link Le Quesnoy
    • Add honorary suffixes of Victoria Cross and Military Medal to the infobox
  • Section 1;
    • He was educated at schools in Christchurch -> He did his schooling in Christchurch
    • Please see if you can add the years of his schooling, his time as a builder, and then with the Territorial Army.
      • The sources don't have this exact information and I don't think when he did his schooling is that important. If I can find when he left for or returned from Australia and/or joined the Territorial Force, I will add that. It isn't in the current sources though but there is one more I can check, and will that tomorrow. Zawed (talk) 09:14, 18 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
        • Turns out it was in the original source, so have added year he returned to NZ. Zawed (talk) 07:47, 19 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Section 2;
    • was involved in an attack; against whom?
      • Have rephrased to indicate nationality of defenders. Zawed (talk) 09:14, 18 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
    • giving his occupation as a carpenter; Earlier it was mentioned that he was a builder, and later on served in TA; did fake his occupation now? or after TA he moved to become a carpenter?
      • No faking, just clumsy wording on my part. I have rephrased my earlier mention of the builder. Zawed (talk) 09:14, 18 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
    • Consider adding a link to this: Action on the Polderhoek Spur
      • Didn't realise there was a link for the action - have added in a few places now, thanks. Zawed (talk) 09:14, 18 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
    • Link Buckingham Palace
    • Link Canterbury Military District; even if it is red-link
  • Section 3; Looks good
  • Section 4;
    • memorials to Nicholas -> memorials dedicated to Nicholas
    • Mark Whyte from Lyttelton was the sculptor of the statue; In the sentence, if "Mark Whyte" isn't notable, I don't see the need to mention this.
      • Have removed from article. Zawed (talk) 07:58, 19 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • External links check resulted in one dead link.
    • Have found an archived page for that article. Zawed (talk) 07:58, 19 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Copyvio detector shows possible violation. But I understand it mainly due to award citation, so no issues.
  • To avoid any doubt, please tag File:Henry_James_Nicholas_51.jpg with {{FoP-Australia}}
    • Done, but used the NZ tag, not Australia.
Nice work in overall. Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 04:51, 16 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
