Please add the Henry Heimlich Archival Collection Finding Aid (http://rave.ohiolink.edu/archives/ead/OhCiUWC0021) to the External Links section of the page. This collection of papers was donated by Dr. Heimlich to the Henry R. Winkler Center at the University of Cincinnati in 2011 and is open for research for anyone interested in Dr. Heimlich. Rampant POV

I stuck a POV tag on the article, plus a citation tag to add to the others already there. Also deleted this weasel-worded POV sentence: "It has been suggested Heimlich's dubious theories were given credence due to his reputation as the presumed inventor of the Heimlich maneuver." There's a major article in the current New Republic about the controversy. I wonder if son Peter and/or partisans are editing here. A major foodfight may be brewing. — J M Rice 19:36, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

I just finished reading the article in the New Republic and I'll I will add is that both sides are staffed by people with strong opinions and strong convictions. I don't think one side is "right" or "wrong," but unfortunately at some point wikipedia will become (one) battleground in their private war. It may be prudent to mark/tag all relevant pages so that people can't change them without editorial approval.75.31.251.18 23:17, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Not an expert - swung by doing research - but very curious as to why the focus on when specific organisations dropped it. Is the history of this really relevant? And why only the American Red Cross and American Heart Association? Added a link to Medline Plus which does recommend it, but it still feels a bit axe-grindy to me.
