  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose):   b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
Grammar seems to be a problem with the article; awkward writing too, as I've seen in the second sentence which simply lists all the "natures" of Half-Life 2, and it comes off poorly. I also see references with periods after them, references in the lead, and numerous single sentence paragraphs. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! 2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references):   b (citations to reliable sources):   c (OR):
The Gameplay section is completely uncited, as well as the Soundtrack section. Additionally, it uses numerous references that are of questionable usefulness as well as a dead link. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! 3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects):   b (focused):
While everything is represented, it is quite evident that the Reception is sorely lacking. Half-Life 2 is one of the most well-known video games out there; it should have a massive reception section. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! 4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales):   b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
While the third image is good for use (since the second image does not seem to depict the lighting nearly as well), the second image has no legitimate fair use rationale. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 22:04, 11 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
  1. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
Because the nominator did not seem to make sure that the article was ready for the Good Article Nomination process, and has in fact never edited the article before, I am quick failing this nomination. If another editor wishes to bring it back, please make sure that all of the problems are fixed and the Reception expanded. WP:VG/RS can help you find good sources, for which you may search on Google; for example, you could search [site:arstechnica.com "Half-Life 2"] (without the brackets). Google News and Google Books are good places, too. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 22:04, 11 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
