This article on Grand Award covers a bit too much ground. Waldorf Music Hall predates Grand Award, and served an entirely different purpose; it was the first "generic" or "Hit Parader" label. Contrary to what the article states, Waldorf did consistently credit its artists, some of whom were regular cast members on the "Your Hit Parade" television program, which inspired the label itself. Grand Award was the "real" label that evolved out of Waldorf; Command was the successor to Grand Award which exploited the high-fidelity market. Enoch Light was also responsible for other labels before the sale to ABC in 1966.
