car list

Car List

A car list should be allowed! When I made the artice about Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, I originally made it on the 'Gran Turismo Series' page. After a short while I decided to make a full page about the game and that's when loads of people discovered it and edited it, that's ok, but this one guy said that I shouldn't have a car list mentioned on there because it's "unnecessary". That's a load of rubbish. Who agrees with me? I worked really hard making and designing the GT5 Prologue page from the ground up and I hate people who ruin things like that guy! alright, i like car lists too but i understand that large car lists are too much (a GT4 car list is just impossible! now GT5 will have 900 cars + download packs). after all this is meant to be a pop article not a fanpage. we'd better put effort into the article itself to get it complete. removed unsourced and false preceding paragraph added by a new editor (a 360 fanboy by his edits), the source is a guy quoted on a blog which is not a reliable source. moreover this rumor thing was about the japanese demo not the actual game. since there is a comparison the ACTUAL definition for Forza Motorsport 2 (which is not standard neither) have to be added. also there was totally false statements like "50% of the picture is upscaled". this paragraph has to be corrected, completed and improved before to be added in the article. Why is the article showing developer and distributor as "PD"? It's Polyphony Digital. This should definitely be changed since once you click it, it brings you to a disambiguation page. I've taken the liberty of merging above into one group to make it more readable.

For other editors, here is what was originally written. I started to copyedit the section, then tried to verify its claims. Among them, this tidbit of info that new cars, Ferrari F40 '92, Ford GT '06 and Citroën C4 Coupé 2.0 VTS '05 would be in the upgraded PAL/US versions based on this page which as far as I can see only show screenshots of the Ferrari F1. The edit I made regarding "peacocking" was this, In response to the growing buzz appearing on popular video game blogs around the globe, the game's American version producer himself, Taku Imasaki, issued a communiquee on the official Gran Turismo 5 Prologue website. Taku Imasaki also did not launch a QA session. He merely responded to comments left on this entry of the PlayStation blog Strongsauce (talk) 19:39, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

the name of the cars are written in japanese, and the F40 stands behind the F1 in the showroom. the "news" logo on this picture shows this is a Car Dealer update. everyone with the jap version know this. Okay so the F40 is there(?) but where are the cars name's written in Japanese? How can anyone without who doesn't read Japanese even verify what you are saying is true? Any editor who goes to verify what you have edited in will go to that page and see, "Ferrari F1 Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Screenshots" and will scroll down to see where the sourcing for the information about Ford GT 06 and the Citroen C4. There is also notability issues. Why exactly are these cars important? Is it because they are currently not in the Japanese version?

Also the phrasing in your sentences imply that Sony has confirmed that these cars even exist. You write, Also, a confirmation of the car update possibility for the earlier Japanese version was issued on March 17 through Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's blog, ThreeSpreech. which is simply not true. damn edit conflict, i was adding the picture with car names written in japanese. ford gt here (the F40 is here as the NEW=update red logo) and citroen C4 here. posting the thread was the best and shorter way i found. these cars are important because they are not in the jap/asia version -hence PD has released THESE screenshots this is communication- that's why i've posted about this. you don't know much about this game and make me waste my time son. I guess that would make it "notable." but you're right in that I don't know too much about the cars in general which makes it easier for me to see fancruft without any context associated with what is written. A better sentence for this information would have been something such as, "While releasing screenshots of the F2007, ThreeSpeech also provided new car information mentioning the F40(ref to screenshot), Citreon C4(ref to screenshot), and Ford GT 06 (ref to screenshot) in the screenshots."

But all of this will probably be moot once they actually release these updates since they will most likely belong to another section other than, "Internet leaks and responses." Strongsauce (talk) 20:34, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Not to be rude considering that my grammar isn't all that great either but your sentence has several grammatical issues as well as being ambiguous (are these cars already in the PAL/US version? These cars were added, so what?) and leads other editors who don't know Japanese to the same conclusion I came across which is, "How did this editor get all that information from screenshots about thw Ferrari F1?" My sentence mentions that these are new details and points to the screenshots so people will understand where you got this information from. the PAL and US versions are totally different from the already released jap version. these cars will be in the PAL and US versions but are not in the jap version. no one knew there was a F1 in this game PAL/US (the F1 is not in the jap version). these cars are added so it demonstrates updates will be available for the jap version as well which was never said before. the future game tag is about "sections" about a future game as well not only about the whole article, since many sections in the current article mixe contents from the jap and EU/US versions (which are totally different) this will lead people to confusion. for example there aren't 60 cars in the jap version but half of it and there is an additional track in the upcoming PAL/US version. Yes, Cliché Online, you've succeeded in driving (pun intended?) me out of the article. It's just not worth my time to reply to your constant incivility[1] [2] and condescending tone[3]. You claim that I shouldn't edit this article because I don't have the game but does that also mean that an editor can only edit Scuderia Ferrari if they are actually on the racing team? If so then we better find someone on the team to write that article! Besides, the only people who even have this game are people living in Asia and the importers. Yet that doesn't somehow prevent me from reading an article on IGN and putting it into the article. If we had it your way then we'd never be able to write about any videogame until it actually came out.

But guess what, in a couple of days Europeans will be getting the game and in about a month the game will be released in North America so then you'll have to relinquish your control of the article. So I've decided to just give up helping this article because in a couple of days others will have to deal with you instead. People who are probably just as strongly opinionated about the game as you are but hopefully with better sentence structure/grammar and understanding of Wikipedia's policies. Considering you are putting in huge amounts of text into the article your lack of grammar needs to be brought up since you are bringing the quality of the article down.

I originally started editing the article mainly because I was trying to help turn this article into an eventual good/featured article. Gran Turismo is an important series for the PlayStation with no good articles/featured articles in the series (only looked at GT series and Additional releases). With some work I felt that with some work it could definitely get there.

For the record, I never added anything that required me to have the game. I mainly tried to restructure the article's paragraphs into proper sections with improved sentences and grammar. I also added proper references (some of them were links enclosed in <sup> tags) and checked to see if the source actually contains a proper reference (many of them didn't). I mainly ignored cited sources that referenced Japanese articles but somehow Cliche Online turns this into some attack about my lack of understanding Japanese.[4] (also: this)

I will be keeping GT5 on my watchlist for the time being to revert any vandalism or to do wikignome type maintenance work. I've made one more edit to the article noting that it needs to be cleaned up.

don't forget you are the arrogant one, coming here with little edits, removing entire sections written by others, and causing edit conflicts while the "inuse tag" was used to prevent this. you've done little to this article but made me waste my time. your wikignome work formatting URL is generally done by useful yet modest users, not arrogant ones like you. i'm glad to see you're leaving this article, i think it's a good thing since your knowledge to the subject was weak as you admitted yourself, not knowledge of cars, the game itself et cetera. a last thing the discussion page is not meant to be a drama place! cheers.
