The GABA section refers to 4-aminobutyrate transaminase focussing on eventual succinate production via a further enzymatic reaction. Since this article is about the glutamate cycles, its catalysis into Glutamate is more relevant here than its participation in the TCA-cycle. Ditto the reference to that further enzymatic reaction to produce succinate. That would be better in an article referring to succinate, or the article referring to '4-aminobutyrate transaminase'.

A direct reference to 4-aminobutyrate transaminase would also be useful. --Leopardtail (talk) 17:47, 8 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

leucine - an essential amino acid edit

Maybe someone can align these seemingly conflicting facts:

1. Stated synthesis of leucine in this article (ammonia section) presumably occurs in animals (nerves)

2. Leucine is an essential amino acid that cannot be synthesized in animals
