Design and description

  • For awhile here, the sentence beginnings are very repetitive. "Their crew numbered ... Their pair of ... They carried enough". Can this be reworded to avoid three similar sentence openings in a row?
    • See how it reads now.

Construction and career

  • "On the morning of 12 February, the 2nd Torpedo Boat Flotilla" - I feel like it would be best to explicitly state the year here, since this is the transition from 1941 to 1942.
  • "the 2nd Torpedo Boat Flotilla (with T2, T4, T5, T11, T12 and the 3rd Torpedo Boat Flotilla (with T15 and her sisters T13, T16, and T17)" - Missing a ) in here, probably after T12.
    • I think that you mean a closing parentheses was missing
  • I'm confused why Flotillas in U-Boat Flotillas is capitalized, is this the name of a specific military unit?
  • Link German torpedo boat T13
    • Good catch.

General comments

  • I find it odd that WWII is mentioned nowhere in the prose or the lead.
  • Add a short description
    • I don't generally do that.

References

  • I don't know if there's a specific MOS on this subject, but I had a reviewer comment at First Battle of Newtonia that when the same author has multiple works cited, they should be in chronological order, not alphabetical. If this is MOS, not a personal preference, this would apply to Whitley.
    • I don't believe that's a requirement.

Images

  • " en route to be scuttled with her load of poison gas" - Is this really relevant in the caption, since the purpose of that image is really just to show what the class looked like?
    • It is after the end of the war.

That's all I can find. Willing to discuss any of these points. Hog Farm Bacon 22:34, 2 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the review.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 09:59, 5 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Directly mention that World War II was going on, and I think this is ready to pass. It's clear that fighting is going on, and you make the statement "Early-war modifications to the Type 37s were limited to the conversion of the foremast into a tripod mast, installation of a FuM 28", but the context still isn't clear. This needs a brief statement that World War II began to provide context. Hog Farm Bacon 13:28, 5 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Dammit, I thought I'd made that change. (I had, but hadn't saved the change.) :-(

Should be good to go now.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 18:10, 6 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
