    • "Sinise has conservative Republican leanings. His CSI: NY co-star Hill Harper, a staunch supporter of President Barack Obama has noted that Sinise's political beliefs are much more conservative (than Harper's)"**
How relevant is this? So Sinise isn't as left as a "staunch supporter" of Obama; is Harper's political standing the litmus test of others now? "Well, his views aren't as liberal as Harpers.... so you know what that means....". It just seems so

                                • True Hero and Role Model***********

I want to add that Gary Sinise seems to be an underrated actor and this is a very well-written article about him. I admire him very much for his work on veterans causes for USO and his support Of the American soldier. Politics and his support for causes aside he is one of my favorite actors and I enjoy seeing him on TV in the big screen I would hope to see him more. His political convictions and views are very sincere and honest and I hope they don't impact his ability to get roles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.208.129.181 (talk) 15:43, 2 April 2015 (UTC)

Tom Hanks

Sinise has been in 3 movies with Hanks. Is there some sort of connection there? H2P (Yell at me for what I've done) 01:50, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

They are both actors. -- Evertype· 22:18, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
Why on earth does this continue to get edited back in? I don't get how or why it's significant and it's not like they're the only two actors to work together on multiple occasions. He's done far more with Malkovich. Thoughts? Travellingcari (talk) 05:06, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Again, what's with Hanks. He's worked on more with Malkovich. I don't want to get in an edit war so I'm leaving it but this is getting somewhat ridiculous. There's no significance to working on several projects with Hanks any more than anyone else. Travellingcari (talk) 04:27, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Ancestor's medical procedure??

Etymology is interesting, but I think the name 'Sinise' does not need to be explained in so much detail here. This article is about an American actor, not his ancient ancestor's odd surgical procedure. Corvokarasu 19:54, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

I've removed it (is it relevant to his "early life"?), and there's no evidence that it was true, anyway. Dekimasuよ! 10:28, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

January 2008

Clean up -- I pulled out a lot of the unsourceable stuff (reported to be friends with Steinbeck) and the why stuff. Filmography looks complete but I don't know details so I left it be. Pulled the band box since the band now has its own entry and there was a lot of repetition. I'd like to find more sources but haven't turned up a lot. I do think the article is much improved Travellingcari (talk) 20:52, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Revisited, cleaned up some more items. Attempting again to keep out the extraneous Hanks information which isn't notable. The appearances now "include" because otherwise it repeats the filmography. Travellingcari (talk) 04:05, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

How is his surname pronounced

Phonetic spelling of his name would be appreciated (only ever seen it in print, never actually heard it said). Thanks Martyn Smith (talk) 20:58, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Sin--ees (long e as in the american "ea" in easy. Sorry I don't do IPA. TravellingCarithe Busy Bee 21:26, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Is it coincidental...

that he looks so very much alike DeForest Kelly? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.141.189.203 (talk) 18:45, 21 July 2008 (UTC) Yeah. He was rumored to star in Star Trek 11 as McCoy but he denied the rumor himself. I myself have been compared to both Sinise and Kelley. Anywho, I don't think that any thing about Sinise/Kelley should be included into the article as it's trivia. Bart-16 (talk) 13:35, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

Catholic conversion

Why has everything about him converting to Catholicism been removed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.90.55.195 (talk) 02:13, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

I noticed that too. Why has the link to Catholic Converts been removed? JKlun
Seems well-established fact that he is proud of/grateful for:

Seems to be a rather rush search/replace action has been executed in this post.

Everywhere "Detective Gary Sinise of the New York Crime Lab" instead of "Gary Sinise". Please correct if found valid. Queztor (talk) 11:51, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Grapes of Wrath on Broadway

A crucial moment in Sinise's career is missing here. It was when the Steppenwolf put on The Grapes of Wrath at New York's Cort Theatre in 1990. I was there. The play had a disappointing run but he was Tom Joad--the lead character, of course. http://www.ibdb.com/production.php?id=4557 Would be good to work that in. As it is, the only mention of Grapes is in the "Filmography" as TV. That's jumping over the Broadway step. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.192.220.66 (talk) 06:48, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

U-2 flight

He flew on a USAF U-2 on 6/8/2011. The Air Force website reported it [1]. I'm putting it on talk because am too lazy to add it on article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.108.227.89 (talk) 03:31, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

What does the following mean?

Since late 2002, he started the Cadillac commercials starting with the 2002-2003 Season's Best commercial and has been with the Break Through campaign since it started the campaign in the 2002 Super Bowl with Led Zeppelin's Rock and Roll then ended in late 2006.

What does that mean? To me it doesn't make any sense.--99.177.248.92 (talk) 20:46, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

Additional TV narrations

Gary Sinise also narrated When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.180.84.31 (talk) 00:13, 24 June 2014 (UTC)

Politics: Sinise founded "Friends of Abe", the Hollywood group of conservatives

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friends_of_Abe: "The Friends of Abe, Inc. (FOA) is a support and networking group for politically conservative members of the Hollywood elite. The organization was formed in 2004 by actor Gary Sinise. ... "Friends of Abe" is a reference to "Friends of Bill", a group of political friends and donors of former President Bill Clinton, while "Abe" refers to Abraham Lincoln. As of January 2012, the organization had more than 1800 members. In addition to Sinise, Pat Boone, Jon Voight and Kelsey Grammer have stated that they are members of the organization. ... Sinise later withdrew from the leadership and Hollywood producer Jeremy Boreing became executive director. ... On April 21, 2016, FOA announced that it had begun disbanding the organization, though Executive Director Jeremy Boreing said it would "maintain the mailing list and stage events."" Does someone want to append this fact to the article? I'm not sure I know how. 71.204.84.210 (talk) 20:31, 23 April 2016 (UTC)

More information about the foundation

Gary's work for veterans and their families appears to be pretty broad and worthy of more discussion (a separate section on how he got started and what he's done?), perhaps based off https://www.garysinisefoundation.org/history/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 14.202.37.121 (talk) 03:20, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

Conservative Politics

I seem to remember Gary becoming an openly Conservative supporter after his role as Lieutenant Dan in "Forrest Gump"--47.157.27.56 (talk) 01:42, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
