Party Poker/Action Poker
editI had written: For example, PartyPoker.com and ActionPoker.com both have ".net" sites where players play for points and not cash. However, they use the exact same software as the gambling sites.
2005 wrote: (they do not use the "exact same" software, that is totally worong; the examples are fully wrong since you are saying .com even; please don't add again)
They do use the same software. The examples should link to PartyGaming then, perhaps, that is the parent company. Please don't add again I don't understand since examples are both necessary and relevant. Nevertheless, rather than reverting again, I am posting this in discussion to get consensus. - The do NOT use the same software. That is completely false. Anyone playing on a .net site does not have access to the cashier or the money games or many other things that are accessible via the real money software. The games do play the same and the the .net games play on the same games as the free .com games, but they are not the same software. I did add examples for the two largest such sites since that is the only reasonable criteria for examples. I don't think they are needed, but that should address your concern. 2005 01:44, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, fair enough. Calwatch 01:46, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
Australian advertising
editThis unsourced paragraph should be removed but I'm unsure what to put in its place.
"In Australia, the principle gaming agency TAB (Totalisator Agency Board) ran advertisements on TV during the 1990s, under the tagline "The Adrenaline Bet" (a play on the company's name). Since then, the TAB has been restricted from all advertising on television and other media, but is still allowed to print race dividends in the newspaper. "
It's factually wrong to say TAB doesn't advertise (on TV or elsewhere). Many sporting broadcasts are littered with ads for wagering companies. And each state has different regulations about how said companies can advertise (eg. NSW won't allow bonus bet promotions) MelbourneStart (talk) 03:38, 26 June 2021 (UTC)
