There is an attempt to shallowly cover the true origins of Gahanna, the suburb of Columbus', name. "Sources" used for this are material from a local printing company (real unbiased there) and literature, the source of which ultimately traces back to the municipality...who of course could have no alterior motive. Ask the simple question; who will benefit? Then you shall know who the culprits are, for they are known by their deeds. The truth shall set you free. 69.872.546.012 04:45, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

Edit war cease fire edit

Wow, not a single point of discussion here about the all-out edit war here? Shame shame. What in the world is going on? —Wknight94 (talk) 01:36, 23 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

There has been vandalism going on for over the last few days and I don't understand why because the information in the history section that was just added must be sourced or it will get deleted, since there was no source, it was deleted.---OHWiki 02:16, 23 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
The anonymous user has a strong bias against Gahanna for unknown reasons. All one has to do is read this person's edits and you will see the gross distortions and allegations being made. It is almost as if this person has had trouble with the Gahanna Police or something. Otherwise, why would anyone go to such great lengths to attack Gahanna? It's odd behavior. Reading more closely, it does all sound like nonsense, eh? I've downgraded protection to semi so only the anonymous person is locked out. —Wknight94 (talk) 03:02, 23 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I'll add some references from the Ohio Historical Society soon, which may help alleviate some. And add some other sections to help "beef up" the article in terms of overall content. OhioVanguard 03:49, 23 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have nothing against Gahanna, nor anything against the many people I know in that area. I have friends who both own business’ and homes in that area, and they are fine upstanding men and women. What I do have is a strong aversion for lies and corruption, wherever it may be found, and I just happen to have first hand knowledge of it in this case. Nothing that was in the information I presented was either distorted nor allegations, merely verifiable truth, and no I haven’t had any trouble with the police (though nice try to discredit me “OhioVanguard”), but I know a ton of people who have. Nothing big, just a ludicrous amount of menial citations, the whole purpose of which being solely to generate revenue. I’ll give you a couple of examples and then the people can judge for themselves, you know those black frames a car dealership puts around the license plate with their names on them? License plate frames. Well, they have written it into their ordinances that this is “Obstruction of plate” and they write tickets for around $75 for them all day long. One of the contractors we use is an older man with a dump truck. They pulled him over and wrote him a plethora of tickets. One of which was for not having an “air brake endorsement” on his DL. Oh…did I mention his truck doesn’t have air brakes? In “court” they dropped all of the citations (7 I believe) because they were unenforceable/inapplicable but still made him pay court cost (around $100), but how many others just mail in the money for their tickets? I could give a dozen or so other examples, but for the conservation of space…these should suffice. The municipality generates more revenue through these venues than any other single source. Again…check their financials, they’re public. Telling the truth can surely not be construed as an “attack”… except to someone who is trying to protect a lie. So is it “odd behavior” to stand up for the truth? Even if done fervently? Instead of making derogatory statements in an attempt to discredit another, why don’t you focus on the facts of the matter and if you believe the information I have presented is erroneous then do a point for point rebuttal. I study contractual legalities almost everyday as it's an essential part of my business (Real Estate developer) which by the way is how I came to know the true origins of the name, through a couple of COUNTY officials and other local developers. I can tell you with no uncertainty that an ordinance is NOT a Law! else they would call it such. It's "color of law" which is defined as "n. the appearance of an act being performed based upon legal right or enforcement of statute, when in reality no such right exists." from law.com Or in laymens terms; looks like a law, smells like a law, taste like a law...but getting down to the merits of the thing...yeah it's not really a law. Also, with the same certainty, I can tell you GAHANNA & Gahanna do not reference the same thing! Though I doubt they want you thinking about that one.

I think you stated very well all your biases against the City of Gahanna. Biases should NOT be included in a wiki article without providing verifiable references. Yet, this discussion page is a perfect medium for you to vent your frustrations and claims. In many cases, items from discussion pages do make it into an article when the wiki community believes that facts have been presented well. Furthermore, you claim to have "proof" to substantiate the origin of the name of the City, but the only proof you seem to have is word of mouth by other "developers" and county officials. Get access to the real documents (if they exist, they are public information)and please provide them on the wiki...that's how this works. We all welcome additional input to make the articles better. And that is the point, to make the article BETTER without denigrating into a downward spiral of unsubstantiated attacks (which you clearly did). I was not the only one that recognized your comments were not appropriate for Gahanna; several others of the Wikipedia community removed your edits as well. Again, that is the idea behind a Wiki; we all work together to make it better. So, please, present your proof and let's talk. Thanks! OhioVanguard 21:13, 23 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
