Talk:Front Row Theater
Spelling question
editNote from creating the page: the place may have used the spelling "Theatre," which would have been consistent with its 70s-faux-upscale marketing (e.g., the champagne bar). See, e.g., this court decision, which can be assumed to use the formal corporate name correctly. The place's ubiquitous-at-the-time logo did not include that word, though, it only said, in lowercase letters, "the front row," and every secondary source that I found uses the "Theater" spelling, so I chose that one. Notes on list of performers
editMany, many more artists could be added. I just picked a few as highlights. I tried to order them by date they first played the Front Row, from the limited information (& time) available. To supplement the information on the page and help to maintain the list's order, the first artist that I listed for each year follows:
- 1974 - Sammy Davis Jr.
- 1975 - none
- 1976 - Harry Belafonte
- 1977 - Dionne Warwick/Isaac Hayes
- 1978 - O'Jays
- 1979 - Marvin Gaye
- 1980 - Bill Cosby
- 1981 - Alice Cooper
- 1982 - Peter Tosh
- 1983 - Jimmy Buffett
- 1984 - Bobbby Womack
- 1985 - Whitney Houston
- 1986 - Jay Leno
- 1987 - Diana Ross
- 1988 - Miriam Makeba/Hugh Masekela
- 1989 - none
- 1990 - Bob Newhart
- 1991 - Salt-N-Pepa
- 1992 - none
- 1993 - none
