I've just read the book (a Priory Books Edition), and can find no evidence for "His religion involves the worship of a mountain god named Benamuckee, officiated over by high priests called Oowokakee" or "Friday tolerates cannibalism, and even suggests eating the men Crusoe has killed." Friday or Man Friday

Not once in this novel does Defoe call the character 'Man Friday' he is referred to only as 'Friday', I understand that he has become to be known as Man Friday and I am not arguing a change in the title of the entry, rather I would like to know why he has become to be known as Man Friday... other than the obvious. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.106.78.166 (talk) 20:29, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

This is true. I think the misconception is because Crusoe often refers to his man Friday, since he is his servant. The article should probably mention this, I would but I can't be bothered.Dw290 (talk) 20:38, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
