Much of the language in this article is loaded. --Palnatoke 5 July 2005 05:10 (UTC)

Hi, This is the author of the entry and webmaster of FreeSharing.org. I'm still new to the wiki format. I think I acurately discribed why FreeSharing.org came into existance, however is someone wishes to edit the entry in a more 'neutral' fashion that is fine by me. I only created the entry because I saw the FreeCycle entry had been modified to include a Similar Groups section that mentioned the FreeSharing Network, but when you clicked on the link you got a page that said there was no entry for that subject, so I entered what you see.

Removing the POV tag, no discussion regarding the POV claim and after reviewing the NPOV policy I see no violation.

Of course you see no violation - you are the original author. And the language in the article is still loaded. --Palnatoke 22:00, 9 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

--- Very nicly edited, thanks Palnatoke. --Razmear Aug 18, 05

I have to put my thinking cap back on... I can see why the 'Welcome' removing edit was done, however I'd like to make it clear that FreeSharing does not require groups listed in the directory to be an 'official member' as is required by TFN as stated in the FreeCycle entry. I also disapprove of the word 'Scheme', I'll have to hit the thesaurus for that one. Anyways, this is low on my to-do list, so maybe this weekend I'll attempt an edit. Language is still loaded and not NPOV. Discussion of this group's genesis serves only to bash Freecycle. Eric Burke is not a neutral source. Freesharing.org's page indicates it is part of a campaign to dilute the trademarks of the Freecycle Network. Comments about solicitations for donations to cover legal expenses are unsubstantiated and frankly, untrue.

---

Also, the link to the heavily biased Grist Magazine article about Freecycle is irrelevant to FreeSharing. May 9, 2006

--- The comments regarding the donation requests have been removed. (I didn't put them there, btw) The link to the Grist Article is the first press mention of FreeSharing.org and discusses many of the issues that led to the directories creation. I feel that it is relevant to this entry and that it was fairly written, even tho some did not like hearing what it said. I won't bother addressing the trademark dilution concerns, as they are irrelivent to this entry. However TFN's oppressive and ever changing trademark enforcement techniques directed at it's own network's groups are bringing many TFN groups over to FreeSharing.org as the mods simply do not want to deal with the hassle anymore.
