- The First World War Embarkion Roll has Lukis as joining on 4 October, and was a corporal at the time he left Australia.

- Is there any further information available on his service at Gallipoli and in Eqypt?
- The AWM unit history on the 10th LHR might be able to help here.
- Is it know why he transferred to the AFC, and where he received flight training?
- Is there any further information on why he was Mentioned in Despatches twice?
