I just have a question: I live in Fonda, and according to the historical plaque we have in the village, Fonda is named after John Fonda ( first name may be wrong) who formed a tavern in this part of what was Tryon County, and not for the reason (nor the person) that is listed on the article.

The land is now own by Mohawks. The Community is called Kanatsiohar'e:ke. It is operated by Tom Porter, (Sakokwenionkwas). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.104.232.28 (talk) 04:12, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

The statement regarding the attack confuses Ossernon on the south side of the river with Caughnawaga on the north. Tekakwitha was born in Ossernon. It was attacked by the French and burned. The inhabitants relocated to Caughnawaga. With help from Christian people of her nation who visited Caughnawaga from Kanawake, she fled from Caughnawaga to Kanawake. --Old Sigma Comment from 21:10, June 21, 2015‎ by 71.178.128.102 Moved by Meters (talk) 04:06, 11 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
