I am sorry but this is highly innacurate... fold forming was first openly publicized and pioneered "in the mainstream" By Herr Ullrich of the Goldschmiedeschule mit Uhrmacherschule in Pforzheim germany.

Alan Revere never completed any program in Pforzheim.. although he may have attended class. This is a corrective note. Speaking as the person who was there, a student of Herr Ullrich, and the person who developed fold-forming, Herr Ullrich never really knew of the system before his death, he did not write about it, or publish any information it. I studied with him in 1979-80, developed and experimented from 80-85 and in 1985 the first publication of fold-forming occurred at the SNAG conference in Toronto. What Ullrich actually did was to create a situation where students experimented with the material in all kinds of ways, and to instill in me the essential idea that "the marks of process are compositional elements", and it is this paying attention to the material and process that led to the work that became fold-forming. I spent many years experimenting, one step at a time, to develop them. False Claim? edit

The article states:

"Outside of the Industrial Revolution, the method represents the first major innovation in metalworking in thousands of years."

This claim seems obviously untrue, as there have been many innovations in metalworking before and after the industrial revolution and the word "major" seems poorly defined. Additionally, the source ([1]http://www.professionaljeweler.com/archives/articles/1998/jun98/0698pm.html) seems unreachable to me but the most recent web archive snapshot ([2]https://web.archive.org/web/20220314070156/http://www.professionaljeweler.com/archives/articles/1998/jun98/0698pm.html) makes no such claim about foldforming.
