Hi Eurohunter, I'll be reviewing this article for you. Comments will be below and I will check off items above as we go. Grk1011 (talk) 15:43, 1 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • Above updated to reflect progress of the review. Grk1011 (talk) 22:12, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Infobox and lead edit

  • If the songwriters are the individual folks, should they really be grouped as Big Brother here?
    •   Comment: They are credited as "Big Brother" on release. Eurohunter (talk) 20:40, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Description edit

  • This section feels too short and very repetitive after just reading the lead. I'd suggest combining it with the "release" section that follows. Refs check out.
    •   Done. I have integrated section "Description" with "Release". Eurohunter (talk) 21:08, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Release edit

  • This is more of a "Background and release" section that we would typically see in other song articles. It actually has a lot more about how it came to be released, which is why I think making a combined section makes more sense.
    • Talk about the background and production of the song, then go into the dates of release and formats, etc. as the second paragraph.
      •   Done. Header changed to "Background and release". Eurohunter (talk) 21:13, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • The mention of "Saturday" seems haphazard. Can you frame its relevance a bit more? "Fest i hela huset" is Basshunter's first release since his previous single "Saturday" from July 2010. Something like that.
  • Nearly every sentence uses his name Basshunter. It makes the sentences read very choppy. Add some variety or perhaps combine some related sentences.
    •   Comment: I added variations to Basshunter name in three places. Eurohunter (talk) 21:40, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • You should split out some of the reception into its own section.
    •   Done. I created "Reception" section and integrated it with "Chart performance". Eurohunter (talk) 21:13, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
      • Ref 21 for Aftonbladet appears to have some reception information that could be used (but you only use it for the Top Cats info)
        •   Comment: Do you mean reference 20 and this sentence (translator): "Many believe that last year's Basshunter song "Fest i hela huset" was more suitable for the program."? Eurohunter
          • I can't read or understand Swedish, so this is all Google translate, but in this ref the "Bra beat" and "Pinigt" sections have some reception. (talk) 21:40, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
            •   Comment: It's Annie Alméns and Erik Sidung opinions and they both were included in section Reception and chart performance. Eurohunter (talk) 14:01, 8 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
      • The viewer numbers are also good for a reception section
        •   Done. I created "Reception" section integrated with "Chart performance". Viewer numbers are included in this section. Eurohunter (talk) 21:13, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • What is the relevance of the Top Cats song? Is that critical to this article?
    •   Comment: It's single by Basshunter and Big Brother (brand) so it's good to mention their previous and next works and there is also comparision between two Big Brother songs. Eurohunter (talk) 20:55, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
      • This article has a ton of information about this. Apparently people compared the two and it was discussed in media. So far, you've only pointed out that they were produced differently without any of the reasons why this was significant. Grk1011 (talk) 22:29, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
        •   Done. Great catch. I added "After release of "Sad But True" by Top Cats which featured Big Brother contestants audience criticized the song for limited participation of Big Brother participants and emphasized that Basshunter's "Fest i hela huset" was more appropriate for the program." in section Reception and chart performance. Eurohunter (talk) 14:01, 8 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Chart performance edit

  • Add number of weeks on the chart and also mention the year-end chart to beef up this otherwise short section.
    •   Done. Added weeks on the chart and position at year-end chart. Eurohunter (talk) 20:48, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Release history edit

  • In the track listing you mention streaming, but only list digital download here. Add the other formats and include the 3-track remix version as a row.
    •   Comment: Streaming and digital download are two formats of the same release. Eurohunter (talk) 20:49, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

General comments edit

  • What does the name of the song translate to? What is the song about?
    •   Comment: "Fest i hela huset" means "party in the house" in English. The song is about party. Eurohunter (talk) 21:20, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
      • You should add the translation somewhere (typically right after the bolded name like in this article: Perro Fiel). Grk1011 (talk) 21:33, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Any promotion? It was included as part of the Calling Time album. Did it serve as a single in a traditional sense or just end up on the album without fanfare?
    •   Comment: It's single in a traditional sense but was released before album and end up on the album without fanfare. Eurohunter (talk) 21:16, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • This was a 2011 release so it was obvious to me that there had to be physical release too. Google turned up a Discogs result [1]. Discogs isn't a good ref itself, but it does have the particulars of the physical release that can be directly referenced (catalog number, etc). Apparently it has it's own track listing that differs from the digital releases.
    •   Comment: Yes, there is CD version but I remember that I asked about this concern in Music WikiProject about such practise in featured articles and they told me that if CD wasn't cited in news articles or other published works then CD would became direct primary source for its existence which is considered negatively. Eurohunter (talk) 21:40, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • The article doesn't need to be in chronological order. It would be helpful to group similar themes together for context so that you don't end up jumping around from aspect to aspect.
    •   Comment: I will look at it after I fix all the issues. Eurohunter (talk) 21:40, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Potentially more comments to follow, but I'll let you get started with these. Great job tracking down sources for this! Grk1011 (talk) 16:26, 1 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Eurohunter: Checking in. Grk1011 (talk) 14:52, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Grk1011: Yes, your comments have been noticed and I want to address issues as fast as possible, just I had no time to deal with it yet. I expect quick responses from others, so asap I will let you know if I only take care of it. Thank you. Eurohunter (talk) 15:29, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Eurohunter: I updated the release history table to show you what I was looking for. The digital download and streaming are actual "various", not just Sweden (for example Mexico, New Zealand, etc.), so you should use a reference in the style of ref 22 from Supergirl (Stefania song). Grk1011 (talk) 21:33, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Done. @Grk1011: Good catch. Meanwhile your comments have been taken into account. I need further comments from you, regarding the above points. This single was released also in other countries but to check all the countries - that would be a lot of work and I'm not sure if I can catch every country from all the streaming platforms so I limit it just to Sweden for simplification. Eurohunter (talk) 21:47, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Eurohunter: Per WP:TRACKLIST, I find the liner notes to be an adequate source for the physical release's track listing. For the discogs link I posted above, you're not citing discogs, you're citing the actual item which is a real thing. For the other countries in the release history, I suggested it be "Various" like the Supergirl article and you can pick a couple of countries' sources to demonstrate that (no need for links to all the countries). Grk1011 (talk) 22:22, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Done. Yes I'm not citing Discogs, I'm citing actual directly released CD but they still were oppose. Anyway I just added CD single to Track listing and Release history sections. Eurohunter (talk) 13:41, 8 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Grk1011: Thanks for next comments. Your comments have been taken into account. I need further comments from you, regarding the next points. Eurohunter (talk) 14:05, 8 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Done. I added references group with references to release at every continent for release in various countries in table Release history. Eurohunter (talk) 14:13, 8 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Current comments edit

Lead edit

  • recorded during the 2011 season the Swedish edition... <- with the wikilink
    •   Comment: "(...) recorded during the fifth season of Swedish edition of the reality television series Big Brother." – would it be okey? Eurohunter (talk) 14:59, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
      • Yes, with the wikilink to the article. Grk1011 (talk) 16:09, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
        •   Done. Added with link to Big Brother (Swedish season 5). Eurohunter (talk) 18:34, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Background and release edit

  • "make the best of the special conditions associated with producing a song within the Big Brother house." <- Please elaborate on this. What are the special conditions?
    •   Comment: It's literally "a bit special conditions" from source ("lite speciella förhållanden"). Eurohunter (talk) 15:32, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
      • You can draw some natural conclusions from this: "make the best of the special conditions associated with producing a song while participating in a reality television series." Grk1011 (talk) 16:09, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • "and identified Gurkan Gasi as an "obvious" candidate to sing, with the assignment room being transformed into a studio" - To sing with him? The second clause after the comma doesn't flow with this sentence. I'd suggest moving things around: None of the contestants had played music professionally. (did they sing though?) The assignment room was transformed into a studio where Basshunter conducted auditions with the contestants, and asked them about their creativity, strengths and weaknesses.
    •   Comment: He audioned all the participants and when he heard him he immediately knew that Gurkan Gasi will record vocals for the song - he probably liked his vocals for some reason. The seconds sentence was probably modified during CE so I changed this part to your version. The third question: Originally there was sentence "None of the participants had ever dealt with music professionally". Is this better? Eurohunter (talk) 15:32, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
      • How about "None of the contestants had worked with music professionally." Grk1011 (talk) 16:09, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Suggest removing "who did not have high hopes". The contestants impressed Basshunter, and by the end of auditions he had enough material for the track. After selecting the contestants who would sing, the resulting song was scheduled to be released on 14 April 2011.
  • "and the song premiered on 17 April." <- how did it premiere?
  • The organisers wanted Basshunter to appear in the Big Brother house for the premiere of the song, but this did not happen due to... <- slight rewording. Add scheduling to end?
    •   Comment: Changed to "The organisers wanted Basshunter to appear in the Big Brother house for the premiere of the song, but this did not happen." — reason is unknown. Eurohunter (talk) 15:32, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • The 20 April date conflicts with the 14 and 17 April dates. Can you clarify what types of releases each are in the text? I think one is during the show and the other is streaming/download? Did the 14 April date not end up materializing?
    •   Comment: "(...) scheduled to be released on 14 April" — finally release didn't materialized on 14 April. Eurohunter (talk) 15:32, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
    •   Comment: "(...) song premiered on 17 April." — yes song was premiered on 17 April, 3 days before release. Premiered ≠ released. Eurohunter (talk) 15:32, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
      • Suggest "Three days after the premiere, the song was released commercially in Sweden on 20 April for both digital download and streaming. This was followed by a physical two-track CD single released on 21 May (with ref from release history). A three-track digital-only version that included the track alongside an instrumental version and ClubKid remix was then released to various countries on 23 May (ref from release history)." Grk1011 (talk) 16:09, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
        •   Comment: Changed to: On 12 April the working title of the song, "Fest i hela huset" was revealed. Three days after the premiere, the song was released on 20 April in Sweden by Warner Music Sweden. The organisers wanted Basshunter to appear in the Big Brother house for the premiere of the song, but this did not happen. On 23 May, a three-track single with an instrumental version and a ClubKid remix was released to various countries." Eurohunter (talk) 18:34, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • "Northern Light" was the next Basshunter single, released on 21 May. <- This is very out of place. Suggest removing completely.
    •   Comment: I don't know. There is introduction with previous single "Saturday", so I think there should be also information about what was next. Eurohunter (talk) 15:32, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
      • This is a really unnatural spot for it. The next single can be seen from the infobox link. Grk1011 (talk) 16:09, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
        •   Comment: Yes but infobox is like summary of the article so I think it should be there - finally it's next single. Eurohunter (talk) 18:34, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Reception and chart performance edit

  • Double check "fantastic" that I had added since it was translated.
    •   Comment: I don't speak Swedish but there is "fantastiskt roligt" which would mean "fantastic fun". Eurohunter (talk) 15:04, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Wikilink following season

Track listing edit

  • You should only need the references for the first row of each track list: "Digital download (20 April 2011),[16] streaming[2]", not each individual song/writer/producer. They serve as refs for the table overall.
    •   Comment: This is only because I couldn't add single reference in "Writer(s)" header. Eurohunter (talk) 15:40, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Eurohunter: Please take a look at these and let me know if you have any questions or need clarification! I believe we are close to finishing this up! Grk1011 (talk) 14:08, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • @Grk1011: Your comments have been noted again, and issues has been taken into account. Some of the issues require further comments from you. There were three references less after your contributions, and I just restored one. Do you know which are the other two? It's hard to realize from edits history. Eurohunter (talk) 15:40, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
