Talk:Fantastico (web hosting)

There are no clear mechanisms for software developers to receive notification that their software was installed on a system.

What the hell is this supposed to mean? For the software developers of the software that gets installed on a system, surly this should be part of THEIR software? Either this is a stupid statement or the wording is incorrect.--Hm2k 22:26, 12 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Article is too negative

I think the article is too negative.

Installing most of this stuff without Fantastico is what is most "technically challenging". What the author really means, is if you cant run your own server and install it yourself dont use the aps at all. For perspective, I think that the following should be pointed out: without installers a lot of people (probably most) would never get a chance to use most of these products...period. Hosts that feature Fantastico need to keep it updated. I have so far not had a problem updating aps using Fantastico, it will update existing sites at the click of a link... but yes, you are always running about a month behind updates released from the development team. For most people that is the tradeoff they have to make vs not running the ap at all. Ive lost count of all the things Ive been able to try and use with Fantastico. Ray C.

I think if it's technically challenging or not is irrelevant. It's pretty much unsourced or sourced to a blog, which isn't a reliable source. This is an encyclopedia not a set of random stuff found on the internet. Per the general requirements of neutral point of view, no original research and verifiability, I've removed the section. --82.7.40.7 (talk) 08:03, 28 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Whats the hostgator stuff about? Unreferenced, random internet complaint about a third party that makes use of the "Fantastico" software? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.17.236.101 (talk) 05:09, 15 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
