Face Detection is not the Same as Facial Recognition edit

Many applications require face detection (finding faces in an image and identifying their parts) while having no need of facial recognition (figuring out whose face it is.) These are two completely different topics and should continue to have separate pages. 219.118.185.73 (talk) 07:08, 27 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Missing Algorithms edit

Please describe how the algorithm finds a face in an image. At least some general approaches. -- Michael Janich (talk) 03:27, 6 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Two different pages edit

This page needs to be split into two different pages. Most of it is "Face detection (automatic)" whereas some of it should be "Face detection (Psychology)". Please could someone do this because I don;t currently have the skills. PsychMan 11:11, 13 January 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by MichaelBLewis72 (talkcontribs)

History edit

It would be great with a history section explaining when face detection became available. For my purposes, commercial availability in various market segments, including consumer devices such as cameras and mobiles, would be interesting. Bjornte (talk) 20:28, 23 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
