Extinct

It is surely not extinct. The photo I added was taken by myself in the Bale Mountains NP in Ethiopia in august 2007. During our 2 day visit to the park we saw a total of 6 wolves on 3 different locations. - GertVankrunkelsven 14:49, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Not changing?

Russian Food?

- According to the ref given, the species is "giant mole rat (Tachyoryctes macrocephalus)". The Wiki article for that species gives its name as Big-headed Mole Rat, so I've changed the article to match that. Richard New Forest (talk) 16:44, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Names
Is such a long list of names really needed? One odd one is "Kay Kabaro" which means red drum. Perhaps its supposed to be Qey qebero, meaning red fox? I added the relevant Amharic text for that, as it seems to be what the anon meant. Though he lifted the info from a site, I don't think there are copywrite problems. However, I do think that the foreign language names should be removed. We don't really need exact translations for the name in other languages in the intro unless they are still often used in English or are the language of the country in which the article's subject is found. — ዮም (Yom) | contribs • Talk • E 06:42, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Awareness
About a month ago, to raise awareness for endangered species, Farmville.com had a virtual Ethiopian wolf one could acquire for said farm. Might be noteable for the article. Lots42 (talk) 16:20, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

What is the scientific distinction between a jackal and a "true wolf"?
