Favourite video

Personally I think it is my favourite video, but the computer graphics look very dates today. Perhaps bands should refrain from the use of CGI etc to prevent this, its bound to happen no matter how cutting edge the graphics looked at the time!

Part of the article says "Axl is then shown being taken to a mental health clinic, while definitions of various emotional disorders flash on screen as Axl talks to his therapists about his emotional problems (a theme that was touched upon in the video for "Don't Cry")." Firstly, there was no indication that it was a mental health clinic - it looked more like a mansion. How many mental health clinics have swings in the backyard with children playing? Mental health clinics are generally inaccessible to the general public. Second, Axl wasn't talking to anyone, and there weren't any people even dressed as therapists. There also weren't any definitions of emotional disorders flashing on the screen, only definitions of the word 'estranged'. I think the article should be changed.

Yes, someone definitely has missed the point of the video. The song's lyrics are clearly about seperation and divorce. The video is quite self-indulgent, but I think the middle portion is very clear: Axl is being escorted by police away from his property. During this sequence, definitions for "Estranged" flash across the screen which support this concept (including the phrase "seperation or divorcement"). The opening sequence with the SWAT team is a little easier to understand in this context. It would seem that Axl has broken in to the same (now-abandoned) property that he was removed from during the middle sequence, and law enforcement and emergency teams have been called in to remove him and/or prevent him from harming himself. Presumably the final sequence shows him trying to end his life, but changing his mind or being rescued. Bulbous 20:09, 27 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
