Talk:Endal/Archive 1

Latest comment: 17 years ago by Allenandendal in topic copyvio

I am finding the guidelines very difficult to follow, especially being a beginner on Wikipedia All help and advice greatly recieved to bring the article up to scratch! Allenandendal 17:28, 9 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Is this about the man or the dog? I'd say it would make more sense as an article about Allen Parton and then include Endal within the article. --EarthPerson 15:33, 10 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
I believe Allen wouldn't satisfy the Notability criteria alone, although Endal would, strange as it is. Don't know what exactly to do, Endal's story requires Allen to be mentioned. Any suggestions? I have to go for dinner now, but will come back and try to figure out whats the best way to go about it. xC | 16:19, 10 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Xcentaur - I believe you are right - the article does need to be about Endal. I looked over your message on the editor's talk page and noticed the direction you were giving. I'll have to think about it as well. --EarthPerson 16:36, 10 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you never seems enough to say to you all but I am truely greatful for all your time and effort, truly humbling to see the article taking shape.(within the rules)

Having had to learn to read and write again because of my head injury, I dont always grasp everything straight away but this has been a fantastic project and one that pushes the bounds

copyvio edit

The article has been tagged as a copyvio. As Allen himself wrote the article (claimed), I didn't check whether it was lifted from some other site. I did a quick Google search, and came up with a lot of pages that have the same wording. If someone could clarify, I'm sure this article could be fixed accordingly. xC | 02:36, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi there

I would like to reaffirm that I am the sole author of this "Endal(dog)" article, the content is taken from our personal profile which explains our history and partnership. I have updated the Wikipedia article to include publications/books that feature Endal and external media (still being added to) and also an unique insight into Endal's health problems which he has worked through for 10 years.

I hope this allays any copyright infringement issues that you may have.

The actual Endal article, which is a summery of his career so far, was written by myself, Allen Parton, and the words used are mine. The history/profile has been used on various web sites and in many publications with our permission. By having a definitive and accurate article on wikipedia will hopefully remove an ambiguity and confusion over Endal's history and ability!

Yeah, but unless you can substantiate that, this article WILL be deleted in 7 days. Unfortunatley, we have no way of knowing that you are who you say you are.--Docg 18:57, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I would suggest that if he logged into his Helium account and added a "Released under the GNU Free Documentation License" tag to the bottom of his work then we know we could use it. This shouldn't be hard at all for him to do if he is who he says he is. If it's not released under the GFDL we cannot use it anyway. --Cyde Weys 19:30, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

This kinda illustrates that there is no merit in a Wikipedia article about something that has been rehashed again and again on the internet for years. "Encyclopedic content must be verifiable."
