slang moved to subculture

ChrisB, Where do you want the information about the teen and pre-teen subculture that calls thems self "emo"? I realize it annoys you that there is more than one group of people that call themselves "emo" but I feel its important to include notable information on wikipedia. The point of making a Wiki article is to reflect reputable, verifiable research. Wikipedia is not here to reflect what people see on local street corners or at their schools.
Familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's main three official guidelines:
  1. No Original Research
  2. Neutral Point of View
  3. Verifiability
Your content violates all three of those. We were already having difficulty staying in line with Original Research and Verfiability in Emo (slang) before you added your text.
I understand that you think this subculture exists. But it cannot be proven through reputable and verifiable sources, therefore, it does not belong on Wikipedia.
But I still cannot believe that rather than address the concerns of the editors at the other article, you simply took your content and pasted it into a new article. The problems with this content exist whether it's here or there.
There are ways to include these trends in Emo (slang). Writing a valuable article requires persistent rewrites and an effort to take account of the opinions of all of the editors. Refusing to budge after the first edit only damages your input and Wikipedia as a whole. -- ChrisB 01:56, 30 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
I give up, though I don't feel wikipedia should ignore that this subculture exists, I am new to wikipedia and I am loosing an up hill battle to try to keep it. I have tried to give facts and research, I have tried to keep a neutral view point - not judging anyone
If you read what I wrote you would see:
  • I never said being "emo" caused suicide rather that there was a subculture that called themselfs emo that writes suicidal poetry and blogs about it.
  • I never said "emo" children are bisexual, I said that the subculture has a bisexual friendly mindset.
  • I used references the best I could. In fact -> Before I added to this article it had no references or verifiability (except a small amount in the talk section), so I am confused and some what dissapointed in wikipedia. Maybe someday when I have more experience using wikipedia I will come back to this article and try to find a way to include what I feel is a notable subculture that calls them self "emo."

"Nu Emo"

See Emo_(slang) talk page for my comments on this (and note how ridiculous it is to be having to duplicate everything on two separate articles). Also, Deathrocker, it is wise not to go accusing people of vandalism just because you disagree with them, especially when your own edit summary contains a very misleading Google count reference.
