Cleaned up the entire page edit

Changed the tone of the article to be more neutral. Removed instructional/how-to portions. Added more linkages. It's a much better page now. EM student, so quasi-expert. Mcmillen76 (talk) 00:33, 2 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Poor people in New Orleans edit

Cut entire subsection:

Lack of transportation edit

If a person doesn\'t have a car, they generally have no way to evacuate. In New Orleans, the poorest neighborhoods were traditionally at the lowest elevations. This meant that those who were the least likely to have a car, and were therefore unable to leave, were also the least likely to be able to weather the flooding in their homes.

What does "no way to evacuate" and "unable to leave" mean? Were there no trains or buses out of New Orleans? Or were the fares too high? --Uncle Ed 16:56, 14 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

removing "poverty" as a reason for not fleeing town edit

Explaining that poverty of minorities is the cause of Experience, Traffic and "Limited Social Capital" is not the aim of this article. --Daveblack 01:20, 10 December 2006 (UTC) you guys are noobs —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.231.91.46 (talk) 10:13, 13 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
