Needs major work

edit

The version as of June 7 2024 both fails notability (WP:NPROF) and is a long CV/essay which is not how Wikipedia BLPs are written. Ldm1954 (talk) 21:45, 6 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Dear @Ldm1954, you asked me to revise the entry in the past and I did my best in accordance with your comments. Please be concise and explain why does this very short, very referenced entry, fail notability. קוונטום דוץ (talk) 22:28, 5 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Please read both the strict requirements for academics in WP:NPROF and WP:REFBOMB. Ldm1954 (talk) 01:38, 6 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Criterion 1: "The person's research has had a significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources." Jerby's research in the field of LMH's and his invention of microwave drill, which was published in "Science" - the most prestigious journal, created echos and lots of interest in the academic community. It was broadly covered in many channels and newspapers, and was also discussed here, in the English Wiki, under the entry "lighting ball".
Criterion 2: "The person has received a highly prestigious academic award or honor at a national or international level." Jerby was a Fulbright fellow. This is a highly prestigious honor for young researchers.
Criterion 8: "The person has been the head or chief editor of a major, well-established academic journal in their subject area." As said toward the ending of the entry, Jerby was the editor-in-chief of JMPEE journal and the editor of the AMPERE newsletter. קוונטום דוץ (talk) 08:46, 6 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
You are really trying too hard:
  • A single Science paper does not count as major impact. Notability is typically an h-factors > 50, and major international awards such as APS Fellow.
  • Fulbright fellows are definitely not major awards.
  • The article says "editor" of JMPEE, and the source cited does not verify this. With a low impact factor it is doubtful that it is a major journal. Certainly newsletters don't count.
I have held off posting an WP:AfD to allow you to improve it. However, if you continue to not improve the article I will post it so the community can decide. Ldm1954 (talk) 09:55, 6 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
