Possible Description Addition edit

From personal experience with keeping and handling these types of fish, they appear to partially change colour to suit their surroundings. This occurs when they are placed in tanks with differing gravel colours or water darkness, and as a result they accordingly darken or lighten their skin colour. Is this a description worth adding although it has no citation? Viskadaik (talk) 12:28, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Black Eel Tailed Catfish edit

From personal experience, I reeled in a few solid black catfish. Didn't see the mention that they were indigenous to the Middle-East, specifically Iraq. Eyes are solid black as well as entire body. 'Whiskers' are much longer than ones in the picture. I have no citation other than the fact I caught them and took a picture. Not a 'Wiki-Whiz' but I'd be more than happy to upload my picture if its worth it.--153.29.119.60 (talk) 22:02, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'm not too sure either because although there are a few types of eel tailed catfish, only one are Tandanus tandanus and an Australian native. Do the black catfish look like the ones pictured on this site? http://www.baghdadflyfishing.com/FishingUpdate.htm (about half way down) If so I am positive they aren't the species on this page because they appear to be missing a dorsal fin and a poisonous spine among other things.
