Experiments on the moon

I move that the second sentence of the third paragraph, "While on the Moon he conducted unauthorized ESP experiments", be followed with the notation "[citation needed]". Would anyone care to second? Austinlwyman4 06:20, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

This is the kind of thing that doesn't really need a discussion - just be bold and add the tag. If someone objects, then is the time to discuss.

I've gone ahead and added the tag myself, since I agree this is questionable. I believe that he did some experiments during an Apollo mission; but I'm not sure they were done on the moon, given the cramped conditions and limited (and very scheduled) time of the landing module. -- John Broughton (☎☎) 15:16, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Importance rating

I've rated this article as a High-importance class, because the rarity of his Moonwalk and the importance that Project Apollo and early human spaceflight has to human history. I also rated this a Stub article. I really can't believe the poor state and quality of many of the articles relating to the Apollo-era moonwalkers. I'll likely add more information and try to bring this article to a B-Class by mid-March.Abebenjoe 22:39, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Clark McClelland

Who is this guy? Purportedly he's either a former astronaut or NASA tech staff... I read an article that he corroborated Mitchell's story about ET's. 6th man on the moon?

No, he wasn't. There was Apollo 12 between Apollo 11 and Apollo 13. The 3rd was Pete Conrad and the 4th was Al Bean. Martin1813 (talk) 19:42, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Walking on the moon

Also, there's no talk of the fact that, even in his book, Edgar Mitchell says he is deeply troubled that he can't remember what it feels like to walk on the moon. He's even been a therapist about it. 80.41.28.66 (talk) 12:24, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia; the goal is to provide an overview of a topic, with links to sources, both offline and online. Unless something has been covered reasonably well by the media, or fills in missing gaps in a topic, it's not neutral to include it in the article. I don't see Mitchell's memory problem here as being that important, unless the media have reported it as important. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 22:20, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

I think it is important, hell, there's a whole 20 page article on steampunk, I think an article ABOUT the guy that walked on the moon mentioning that he doesn't remember what it's like is something relevant.. If a reliable cite can be found.02:48, 22 June 2010 (UTC)Cs302b (talk)
