"auditory stimuli are usually transient and cannot be reassessed" seems nonsense. edit

There are auditive artists that can recreate sound(s) they recall from memory (e.g. a train horn) even if they can't remember every detail. Seems more to do with training as there are graphical artists that can recall a lot more details than an untrained person. With sound as well there are auditive artists that can recall a lot more details than an untrained person.
