Doti division

edit

As per date, there is NO such thing as a Doti division, let alone it covering 9 districts. Far Western Development Region is NOT known as Doti. Census of Nepal reveals Nepali (Western Dialect) to be the main language of Doti district. This page should either be redirected to Doti District or rewritten with accuracy.--Eukesh (talk) 03:45, 5 July 2009 UTC)

Clearification : Dotiyali is a language spoken in farwestern Region of Nepal. Dotiyali dictionary written by R.D Prabhash Chataut is available in the market. The BOOK about the history Of Doti Region (for far western Region) Written by Late Devi Prashad Ojha too is available in the market. See also Reference of this Article

Each and every part of Nepal (eg-Limbuwan, Tamangsaling, Nepalmandal, Magarat, Madhesh, Khambhuwan, Kochila, Tharuhat etc) is stemming up with their regional identity, Far West being no exception. However, to state "Farwestern region of Nepal is also known as Doti (Devnagari; डोटी ) or Doti region" is GROSSLY INCORRECT because the Government of Nepal has made no such recognition, at least at the moment. If there is supporting evidence of historical existence of such an entity, the best way to put it, is by stating that there WAS such a region a called Doti (with proper reference). Claims of languages of Farwest eg-Doteli and Baitada being different language (or even a part of Kumaoni language is not new). AFAIK, the mutual intelligibility of Kumaoni and the languages of Far West and its discrepancy from Nepali is very obvious. But then, there is no official recogntion of this fact and wikipedia is not a place for original reasearch. Also, Ethnologue recognizes both Doteli and Baitadi as dialects of Nepali. Lest these things are corrected, the article has to be rewritten with view of citable references.--Eukesh (talk) 17:39, 13 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
