There are no citations on this article that back up that door handles are actually a high source of infection. As far as i know, most door handles are antimicrobial. I am afraid that this page spreads fear and misinformation.
I think that's a good point, this article could use an alternate section talking about that and maybe like OCD and over-hand-washing. I.e. are the fears justified? Especially w/ covid.
Also should this be in microbiology? I wonder if epidemiology would be a better fit. Especially w/ covid, it matters less what bacteria and more communicability. NateRen (talk) 16:47, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
I agree that the citations needs updates as many of the source links do not work. I would also like to point out that the title and subheadings all say "Bacteria" when many of the examples given are viruses. This distinction is important because people sometimes confuse bacterial and viral diseases (e.g. some patients ask doctors for antibiotics to treat diseases like the common cold, which is caused by a virus).
