George Dobson edit

Is George Dobson notable independent of this article? Probably not. His father and brother are both notable for their work and discoveries and although George assisted both of them, but he is not really famous for anything else he did. Granted George was a Canterbury Pilgrim, having arrived on one of the First Four Ships in December 1850, but so were about 700 other people. Here he is murdered and the town is named after him, and that is primarily why he is remembered. So, because both he and the crime relate to the town's name, his biography, and the crime that resulted in his death should be explained here, at least in the first instance. If there is enough biographical content for Dobson that it would benefit from a separate article then one could be created. But develop it here first, because there are so many other George Dobson articles. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 10:45, 15 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
