Not sure if we're going to have to disambig this in the future. Scientists using fields of satellite dishes might consider that a directional array. Either way, it's a start. --SamMichaels 05:04, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Too much jargon

Could someone please translate this page to English?

Wording

edit

Reverted back to the word "multiple". 2 antennas constitute an array...saying an array has "many" antennas makes it sound like you need 15. It may be better to just drop the adjective altogether since "antennas" implies more than 1. --SamMichaels 19:43, 5 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Merge into Antenna array (electromagnetic)?

edit

I suggest this stub be merged into Antenna array (electromagnetic). There are already a huge number of antenna articles that redundantly cover aspects of this subject: Antenna array (electromagnetic), Phased array, Tower array, High gain antenna, Low-gain antenna, Directional antenna, Smart antenna, as well as articles on individual types of directional arrays such as Yagi-Uda antenna, Reflective array antenna, Log periodic antenna, Collinear antenna array etc. A few of them cover the subject well, but most are stubs. The result is that if the reader types the wrong term into the search box, he gets a stub like this without knowing that the subject is covered better in another article. --ChetvornoTALK 16:48, 27 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Seems reasonable to me. I suggest deciding yourself on one first merger. Put merger templates on the two pages, clear other merge flags on the article pages, notify the two talk pages, and cut / paste the material. Don't do more than one step in a day. Waiting a day or so for each step can provide plentiful opportunities for objections to arise. Then the next merger, next week, same procedure. Eventually you'll reach a point where further mergers don't make as much sense, perhaps not until the size where starts to push the suggestions in WP:SIZE.
