Talk:Dippy Egg

I think that a dippy egg is different from a fried egg... It should not re-direct to the fried egg page. A dippy egg is English. It is a soft boiled egg that is placed in a dish that holds it upright and the top is cut off. You then dip slices of toast or other food (often called "soldiers") into the soft yolk.

Hmm, never thought I'd be discussing dippy eggs on Wikipedia, but yes, in the UK a dippy egg is a soft-boiled egg that you do indeed dip your "soldiers" in [1] - although it is a valid US term for eggs fried 'over easy' too. I suggest making it a disambig page and adding a second link to Boiled_egg#Soft-boiled_eggs. -- Boing! said Zebedee 17:35, 15 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
