I created this by merging the previous articles, dextrorotation and levorotation. As I previously posted on those talk pages, the articles were almost entirely overlapping, except in the cases where one or the other was missing content that should have been overlapping. From my uderstaning of organic & bio chemistry when using uppercase D or L you are refering to the structural relationship, while (d) or (l) referes to optical rotation. I think a lot of people are going to (+) or (-) use as this will make it more definite as to what you are refering to. Good, that's what the article says. The question was about the font, D versus D. Do you know? I guess now there's a second question as well: Is it "d" or "(d)"? You use "(d)", and the article uses "d". Are both correct, is the article wrong, or are you wrong? --Steve (talk) 01:03, 6 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

I believe that this article needs to be renamed to Optical Isomerism because that is what this phenomenon is called.
