Health Department of Western Australia

edit

The History section says that the various agencies amalgamated in 1984 to form the Health Department of Western Australia. Did that agency subsequently change its name to Department of Health? If so, the name change should be included in the history. If not, the correct name should be used in the amalgamation sentence. Mitch Ames (talk) 08:12, 2 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

The answer is - http://aeon.sro.wa.gov.au/investigator/Details/Agency_Detail.asp?Entity=Global&Search=department%20of%20health&Op=All&Page=1&Id=36&SearchPage=Global satusuro 09:48, 2 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

That's not an answer, that's identical to what the article says said. Mitch Ames (talk) 12:47, 2 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
OK your call - who would you treat as a valid source as to the correct name - the SRO - the Dept itself (ie does it bother to identify its origins in its current website? ) - or http://www.slp.wa.gov.au/legislation/statutes.nsf/main_mrtitle_413_homepage.html... satusuro 13:14, 2 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
The name change is gazetted in September 2001.
Do we have a reference that actually states that the Health Legislation Administration Act 1984 is the one that created the Health Department. The Act itself does not name the department and http://www.slp.wa.gov.au/legislation/statutes.nsf/main_mrtitle_413_homepage.html mentions the department name but does not state that the Act creates the department. It would probably useful to mention/link the Act in our article, but only if we can be sure that this is the Act that created the department. Mitch Ames (talk) 03:45, 3 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
