Deletion?

User:Onel5969 nominated this Stub page for deletion. Clearly, Delta Epsilon isn't a major fraternity, but here is the rationale for keeping the page:

  1. The fraternity was the predecessor of a 140+ year chapter of Beta Theta Pi.
  2. The fraternity was noted in most or all editions of Baird's Manual of American College Fraternities, the seminal reference book used by such societies, recognized by the Fraternities and Sororities Project as its go-to reference.
  3. The Fraternities and Sororities Project has offered guidelines for notability within the project, designed to dispassionately and consistently meet Wikipedia standards. This article meets those standards. Not all do: There are easily 1,100 notable fraternal organizations tracked by the Project, some of which have WP articles, and some of which do not (yet). Beyond these there are perhaps another 5,000 local groups that DO NOT MEET our requirements for notability. Nor may they ever meet those standards. Thus we manage this issue carefully within the project group.
  4. As a Stub, Delta Epsilon (fraternity) is a work in progress. Project participants are encouraged to review yearbooks and old records for additional citations. This doesn't happen overnight. Usually.
  5. In light of this deletion suggestion, I have updated the Talk page with a To Do list, with specific suggestions for improvement.

Based on these clarifications, I'm removing the nomination for deletion. Jax MN (talk) 19:42, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
