To people from Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Maldives, Indonesia, Britian and some other countries when we state Rebar, they do not know what this is. To them a general middle ground is deformed bar, while they also refer to it as steel bar, but not rebar.
Hence merging does not sound like a good idea at the moment. When people search for deformed bars, they need to be educated first that it is also referred by other names by people in different countries. Hence deformed bars is also meant to attract viewers who is familiar with those terms and the markets that use these terms.
- You could explain the term at the article "Rebar", and leave "Deformed bar" as a redirect to that page, so that when people search for "Deformed bar", they arrive at the Rebar page automatically. Just because the item has many names, that doesn't really indicate that a separate article is required, just that more explanation is needed.
