When entering the search term "Datacom" I am redirected to the "Computer Network" page that does not reference the word "Datacom". Users searching for the Datacom database management system (article DATACOM/DB) are therefore being directed to an unexpected page.
I note that a previous page with this title was moved/deleted with the comment "Computer networking is clearly the primary usage of this term". While the term Datacom has come to be associated with Computer Networking in recent years, the Datacom DBMS has existed since the 1970s and still has thousands of active users, many of whome are new to the system and search for information in places like Wikipedia.
I believe that a Hatnote in the Computer Networking article would not be appropriate, as that would be confusing to those people who go directly to the Computer Networking article. Therefore I respectfully request that we consider replacing this redirect with a Disambiguation page, with Computer Networking as the first (most probable) reference, and DATACOM/DB as the secondary reference for those searching for information on CA Datacom.
