Platform cooperatives edit

Because of the missing definition (see discussion below), the overlap with platform cooperatives isn't declared and will lead to overlaps between these two articles. Benjamin Bach (talk) 13:36, 8 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Definition edit

This article is a great start and provides important information. But I have to point out that there are (at least!) two major types of data cooperatives, as with classic cooperatives: Consumer cooperatives and worker cooperatives. In this case, the article talks a lot about worker cooperatives in which the value of production is shared through platform ownership.

But for data cooperatives, there's a whole category of consumer-like cooperatives, in which consumers owning a platform will decide governance and pay infrastructure combined.

The article addresses the case where the owners of the cooperative are consumer-like, i.e. other organizations representing the interest of the data subject. But this is far from saying that data subjects are "data entrepreneurs". Benjamin Bach (talk) 09:30, 8 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
