Coronis has many glyph variants. Here are three basic forms.
I've replaced the image at the head of the article with a detail from P.Lit.Lond. 134 since it's a clear, public domain image of an actual and more-or-less representative coronis. The old image is at the right. I'd like some verification of its contents. The first glyph certainly resembles a coronis. I can imagine the second being used as one, since it resembles a stroke commonly found as part of a coronis, though I've never seen that mark on a papyrus serving this purpose on its own. The third glyph would not be interpreted as a coronis, but a forked paragraphos made without lifting the pen. I'm leaving the image here so that people might comment on whether or not (and how) this image should be reintegrated into the article. The Cardiff Chestnut (talk) 06:44, 1 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
