Talk:Construction and renovation fires

Countermeasures edit

These fires have sometimes prompted countermeasures elsewhere, such as the Cutty Sark fire prompting the fitting of sprinklers to HMS Victory https://www.hantsfire.gov.uk/incidents-news-and-events/news-releases/2016/sprinklers-could-help-save-world-famous-warship/. Is this worth mentioning somehow? David Underdown (talk) 15:36, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

A section on preventative countermeasures sounds like an excellent idea, David Underdown. Please feel free to add it. Firewatches should probably be mentioned there, too. Shutting off the electricity after working hours and using infrared cameras to monitor the site for hotspots are other countermeasures.
A section on specialized techniques for fighting construction and renovation fires might be useful. HLHJ (talk) 03:30, 19 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

'Under investigation' edit

Have Hôtel Lambert, Paris - 2013 - and Battersea Arts Centre, London - 2015 - both marked as still 'under investigation' - is this still actually the case? 89.197.114.196 (talk) 15:48, 12 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

USS Bonhomme Richard edit

In Normandie fits the bill, so does the 2020 fire on the Bonnehomme Richard, which was eventually scrapped the next year 188.223.100.202 (talk) 14:36, 16 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

And so does USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6) and USS Miami (SSN-755) (maybe we need a separate section for ships?). Go ahead and add them, User:188.223.100.202! HLHJ (talk) 00:57, 17 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
