Unfortunately, this article is very far from meeting the GA criteria. There is significant unsourced content, and the content that is sourced relies far to heavily on news reports, when academic and historical analyses are available. (The issue of overuse of news sources as a POV issue for politics topics is discussed here). The length of this article is also an issue, because summary style is not employed and the party's recent history is given excessive space compared to past eras.
