Needs work

This description really only covers the plumbing/conduit side of compression fittings, with very little information about the chemical/gas/R&D/etc side. For instance the description of the compression ring as being brass may be correct for standard household plumbing but industrial applications may use stainless steel.

I'm really not sure how you describe that side of the uses. Technically it is plumbing, but common usage of the word plumbing implies household low pressure water lines, not something like a 2k PSI hydrogen line.

I also wonder if there is any need to add some of the basic "rules" of compression fittings, like how close you can put a bend, or using makeup tools to set the ferrules. Compression fittings and high-pressure / hydraulic / brake-line use?

Compression fittings are said to not be allowed for use in applications such as automotive brake lines - but there is little in the way of direct documentation or "rules" to that effect.

Is there anything known (in an authoritative, technical or scientific sense) that can be said about the useful working limits of compression fittings when it comes to pressure?
