Community or community ecology?

For the last couple years I've pondered the decision to redirect community ecology to this page. What is the rationale? If we're only going to have one page, should it be this one or that one?

It's impossible to write about a community without reference to community ecology. And as weird as it seems, the reality of community ecology is on far more sound footing than is the idea of whether there really is something meaningful that we can call a community. I'd like to see this discussed, I'm curious about what people think. Guettarda (talk) 04:22, 8 December 2012 (UTC)

Competition not a driver of evolution?

"There is little evidence that competition has been the driving force in the evolution of large groups.[4]"

It is completely absurd to say that competition is not a driver of evolution among communities. See page on Competitive Exclusion Hypothesis. Competition will always be a massive driver of evolution among organisms.

Educational assignment

Currently editing this page for part of my science communication course at Imperial College London. I have extended some of the original sections, whilst adding in new sections such as Trophic Levels. I also plan to add pictures and some diagrams.
